Cracker

A technothriller rooted in real 1989–1990 hacking, shipping, and corporate power games.

First published in Norwegian in the early 1990s, now reworked and adapted in English – page by page, scene by scene.

About the book

Cracker follows a young hacker in late–1980s Norway, a global shipping company on the edge of digital transformation, and a web of fraud, drugs, and power that reaches from Oslo to Hong Kong and Acapulco.

The story is built on real technology of the time: DEC VAX clusters, VT220 terminals, X.25 networks, BBS culture and the first corporate data networks – written by someone who lived that world professionally.

It is a thriller about systems and people, about trust, greed and responsibility when information becomes the most valuable cargo.

The Hacker Chronicles

Cracker is the first book in The Hacker Chronicles, a series of interconnected novels where characters, companies and decisions echo across time.
